I am SO excited that you’ve taken some time out of your day to visit! Welcome to Sugar & Sawdust, where we can hopefully make your life more sweet than dusty! This blog was created to give tips, tricks and how-to’s (and how-not-to’s) when it comes to baking, crafting, building, home renovating and everything in between. Just a disclaimer that we are not professionals, but are merely giving advice based on our past experiences with different projects. Now, let’s get to the good stuff and give you a little bit of background info on us!
When I say “us” I mean my husband [James] and myself [Angie]. I’m a 24 year-old “free spirit” if you will. My passion is to bake & create; I live for the thrill of that end product. My husband is 26 years-old (my handsome lumberjack) and is a wood-working mastermind that bleeds man glitter a.k.a. sawdust. Hence, I am “sugar” and he is “sawdust”…pretty genius, am I right?
My goal for the “sugar” component of this blog is to transition from actively ‘selling’ my caking services to show you how it’s done! A lot of money can be saved and tons more memories can be made with your loved ones in the kitchen if you’d like to give it a shot! I’ll give you all of the ‘knead to knows’ on the do’s, the don’ts and the how-to’s. Remember, you cannoli be as great as you think you are. Let’s just roll with it and make the world a batter place! Okay…I’m done with the puns.
The “sawdust” component will be all of the crafty stuff. From the super cool carpentry that James does, to the renovations of our first home…my goal is to inspire you to get crafty and in touch with your inner Martha Stewart! I know it’s in there…
